Matty leads Discovery Climbing with a people-first mindset, clear communication and a genuine focus on creating climbing walls that meet each client’s unique needs. He loves chatting all things climbing and is especially passionate about helping children experience the fun, confidence and movement that rock climbing and bouldering provide. As the main point of contact from first enquiry through to completion, Matty supports clients by guiding them through design, safety, compliance and installation. His hands-on, caring approach ensures every project is delivered with clarity, confidence and genuine attention to detail.
Wade
Wade has been importing mobile rock-climbing walls in Australia since 2007, honing his skills through years of experience in a variety of rock climbing roles. He has a deep desire to bring out the best in people by empowering them to grow and achieve even more than they thought they were capable of. Wade is the co-founder of Discovery Climbing and oversees the delivery of our Spectrum Sports climbing projects. With extensive experience in logistics, installation coordination and product specification, he ensures each Spectrum project runs smoothly from freight to final fit-off.
AJ
AJ, our head rock climbing wall installer, is truly a celebrity of the Australian climbing scene! He leads the team for the Inspection and Certification of Artificial Climbing Walls. AJ is like a climbing Swiss Army knife—able to whip out technical moves, rope skills, and beautiful knots at a moment’s notice. AJ is Discovery Climbing’s lead installer and the craftsman behind many of our Australian-made climbing walls. With extensive experience in construction, safety systems and on-site installation, he brings precision, reliability and a strong focus on compliance to every project. AJ works closely with schools and project teams to ensure each climbing wall is built safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
Leo
With over 20 years of climbing-wall design experience, Leo brings world-class creativity, technical precision and a deep passion for climbing to the Discovery Climbing team. Leo has designed more than 100 climbing walls worldwide — from schools and commercial gyms to competition-level structures featured at IFSC World Cup and World Games events. A lifelong climber and route setter, Leo blends artistic vision with real-world climbing experience. His background spans 3D modelling, industrial design, product development and visualisation, using industry-leading tools such as 3ds Max, Modo, Rhino, and SolidWorks.
Zach
When you message us on our socials, you’ll meet Zach, our equal part climbing fanatic and digital marketing guru. With several years of experience in marketing roles, including social media and brand management, he knows how to build content that connects. Zach channels those skills into a community-first approach, driven by a genuine passion for climbing education and outreach. Over his climbing journey, he has coached youth climbing clubs and led “Learn to Climb” seminars, giving him a rich insight into the sport and the people who love it. Off the wall, Zach is a complete mountain enthusiast and can be found camping, hiking, and snowboarding any chance he gets.
Bella
Bella, our Content Writing Queen, has had a million and one jobs, but her true loves will always be writing and rock climbing. She is passionate about helping people, building genuine connections, and having her work change the world for the better. Bella has been climbing since she could walk and can usually be found trying to persuade people to go out to a crag with her or scouring library shelves for a book she hasn’t read yet.
